How long is the tenancy contract?

A minimum length of the accommodation contract is 1 calendar month. Long term contracts are also possible.

Can I get a short-term contract?

Yes, minimum rental period is 1 calendar month.

Do I have to pay a security deposit?

Yes. Domeq requires a security deposit equal to 1 monthly rent, paid in advance in addition to the 1st rent and a commission to, all paid due before move-in.

What does my security deposit cover and when will I get it back?

The damage deposit is held in a dedicated escrow account and covers any damage you may cause to your apartment; this excludes normal wear and tear. It is refundable at the end of your stay with us and usually received within 28 days as long as there are no damages or outstanding rent. Domeq staff will inform you by email the status of your security deposit after your apartment is assessed for damage.

When do I have to pay my rent by?

The rent payment for the next month must be delivered until the 20th day of the current month. For example, you need to pay the July rent till the 20th June.

What is included in the rent?

Your stylish apartment, access to our vibrant communal spaces, all utility bills (i.e. electricity, water, heating) and Wi–Fi internet are all included. /p>

The following is not included:

  • Insurance
  • Meals
  • TV license
  • Crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils
  • Linen (including bedding and towels)
  • Laundry room access
  • Laundry service
  • Cleaning service
  • Borrowing of vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board at the reception

The packages for example include bedding and linen rental (incl. regular exchange), cooking utensils rental or regular cleaning or laundry service.

Do I have to pay additional taxes?

No, all prices already include VAT.

What additional facilities or amenities are available at Domeq?

Domeq has a communal lounge, study areas, communal coffee area, reception, 24-hour security service, CCTV, electronic access card, cinema area, games tables, common laundry room, and access to the rooftop terraces with a stunning view on Brno.

How big are the apartments?

Domeq has 4 general apartment types:

  1. Apartment of 40m2, suitable for 1-2 persons
  2. Double Studio of 24m2, suitable for 1-2 persons
  3. 2+ kitchenette/Lg. Double Room (wheelchair accessible) of 40m2, suitable for 1-2 persons
  4. Single studio of 22m2, suitable for 1 person only
What’s the difference between apartments on different floors?

Lower-floor apartments are dedicated for short-term residents while apartments located on the upper floors are reserved for long-term residents (with contract for 1 year and more). Other than that, all apartments have similar layout. The apartments are differentiated by:

  • size / bed accommodation
  • wheelchair access
  • slight layout differences
  • balcony / no balcony
Are the restaurants included?

Currently Domeq does not have a ‘restaurant’ on-premises, but there are various restaurant options in the surrounding Ponavka park, in addition to nearby local restaurants. Domeq has both in-suite cooking hobs as well as ground floor communal cooking area.

Do you allow pets?

We love them, but don’t allow them, unless required for medical purposes (as companions of visually impaired residents, for example)


How do I book?
Foreigners is an agency exclusively managing the whole booking process. The whole procedure from the first visit up to the apartment handover of the room is executed by Foreigners. The agency is charging a commission of monthly rent (or 7,000,- CZK excl. VAT in case the rental period is up to 6 months).

What payment types are accepted?

We accept all debit and credit cards/bank transfers or cash in Czech Crowns to confirm a booking. No personal cheques or cryptocurrencies accepted (yet).

Do I need to be 18 years of age or older?

Yes. Only under exceptional circumstances (exceptional unique student) will we allow anyone under 18 to live in Domeq.

I’m not a student. Can I book with you?

Yes. Domeq is available for full-time, graduate or postdoctoral candidates as well as employees / staff of our companies we cooperate with.

Can I book a viewing?

Can I move in later than my start date?

Yes. You can move in on the day your contract starts or any day after the start of your contract, we just ask that you inform us of your arrival date by email at and let us know if anything changes.

Can I move in before my start date?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to move in earlier. But in exceptional circumstances we may be able to arrange something for a small fee, please contact us and we can always look into this for you.
